We had a great convo with JP and Ash about their upcoming holiday plans, with whom they’re closest in Bachelor nation, what kind of girl they see Season 16 Bachelor Ben Flajnik ending up with, and of course, the question on everyone’s lips: How is wedding planning coming? Read on to find out!
Wetpaint Entertainment: JP, are you loving Boo?
JP: I fell in love with Boo, also. I have to admit. It happened pretty quickly. She moved in, and she’s so incredibly friendly and loves people. The first time she nestles up to you, you can’t help it.
Do you see yourselves getting another pet, a brother or sister for Boo?
Ashley: I don’t think so, one Yorkie is enough. We like giving her all of our attention. We really spoil her.
How is living together going?
Ashley: Our schedules are tough. He works 8 to 6. I leave at 5:30 in the morning and get back at 8:30 at night. I’m commuting to Philly every day. But it will be over soon. I can’t wait for that to be done. I can’t wait for us to get our life back.
Will you guys be celebrating both Hannukah and Christmas?
JP: Yeah. They actually overlap this year, so we’ll light candles for Hannukah and then we’ll go up to Maine for Christmas, so we’ll be celebrating both.
Do you two have any New Year’s plans?
Ashley: We don’t have any yet, is that bad? It’s probably going to be low key — not in New York City.
JP: I’m a planner, she’s not. So, this is frustrating for me not to have New Year’s plans. At this point, whatever comes up in the next two weeks, we’re going to do it. We have friends who are down in Florida, we have friends who are up here. I honestly have no idea.
Ashley: I wouldn’t be opposed to just going up to his parents house in Long Island and just having a quiet night…
JP: We could do that.
Ashley: Who knows?
Have you two bought each other holiday presents yet?
JP: Mine is on order and it’s supposed to arrive this week. It wasn’t tough to pick out. It’s something she’s mentioned once before and I remembered it.
Ashley: I have no idea what it is! And I have no idea what I’m getting him.
Have you two talked to Ben since he wrapped?
Ashley: No! We haven’t.
Have you heard from the grapevine if he’s engaged or not?
Ashley: Honestly, we have no idea.
JP: They keep stuff like that pretty wrapped up.
What about you two? How are wedding plans going?
Ashley: Oh gosh, we’re so bad. We’re asked this every day.
Well, when you get engaged on TV, that comes with the territory…
Ashley: We got engaged so quickly that we wanted to enjoy the engagement and we didn’t want to rush. I think after the new year, we’ll start talking about it. I already have a couple of ideas in mind…
Who from the Bachelor franchise do you guys hang out with the most?
Ashley: Ashley Spivey. We see her all the time. Jackie Gordon.
JP: Jackie and Craig. Graham. Ames. We’re all around.
What kind of girl would you like to see Ben end up with?
Ashley: Down to earth, funny.
JP: He’s very real. I think he’s probably looking for the same.
Editor’s note: Supermodel Irina Shayk wasn’t able to attend the event, but two days earlier she did help pick some of the shelter animals at the ASPCA to be blessed at the event on Sunday. Irina chose Hammie, a three-legged pit mix, and Rocky, a chihuahua. So inspiring!
