COUNCIL bosses say people planning to name their big day can tie the knot at a range of town venues.
Hartlepool Borough Council has approval for weddings to be held at the Town Hall Theatre, the Borough Hall, Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience, the paddle steamer Wingfield Castle and Summerhill Visitor Centre.
Other events such as naming ceremonies, birthdays or themed parties can be hosted at these places as they are licensed to serve alcohol and provide catering.
And council bosses say that the Town Hall Theatre is available for free for weddings in July and August.
The 1897 Gothic-style Town Hall Theatre, which holds 140 guests for weddings and parties, has its own bar which is said to be perfect for that special occasion.
Lesley Strickland, Hartlepool Borough Council’s cultural events officer, said: “If you’re planning a wedding or other special celebration this year, you need look no further than Hartlepool for a unique and atmospheric venue.
“With the Town Hall Theatre available to hire free for weddings in July and August, you’ve absolutely no excuse not to tie the knot this year.”
